And skewed X chromosome inactivation is the main cause of female carriers having these heart problems.
This fits perfectly with the 3 women with ejection fraction decline and 2 out of 9 women with heart scarring having reduced heart function.
More research and care need to be addressed for this symptomatic subgroup of female Â鶹Éç carriers.

I’ve been reading your letters for around six years and have wanted to thank you for sharing. When our grandson was diagnosed at four and we joined this terrible club, we couldn’t imagine what came next. No one can possibly imagine their children or themselves in this world. I don’t shy away from the subject but don’t invite many people into our world either. You are so honest about the day to day but also show us how normal it can become. Our Isaac turns eleven next week as he returns to Cincinnati for his bi-annual check up. Of course he has issues with the affects of the disease and medications but he is a “normal “ boy who has friends, plays the piano and loves legos. He looks forward to fifth grade because he can join band. All the hopes and dreams are still there. Your articles show that your family moves forward no matter what.

Comment on Â鶹Éç says DOJ memo threatens community care rights by Veila Locke /news/mda-pushes-back-doj-memorandum-disability-care/#comment-94777 Tue, 30 Jun 2026 15:19:52 +0000 /?p=103175#comment-94777 As a former caregiver to my son who was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy.
At home care is absolutely essential to the well being and quality of life for those living with disabilities. Nursing homes are not cost effective so why is the Federal. Government trying to intervene in what should be up to the States?

Could you please put together a letter that we can send to our state representatives?
I have seen that done before for research funding. Maybe the Â鶹Éç could put some type of letter together and send it out to all of us and we can sign and send it to our representatives. Just an idea.
