Hi Jasleen,
To give you some context, I’m not an MD patient, a family member, or a medical doctor. I’m an old student of alternative medicine, currently exploring supportive approaches for MD in both Korea and New Zealand.
Through my research, I’ve identified two simple, complementary modalities that appear to offer supportive benefits: grounding (earthing) and specific acupuncture/meridian therapy.
The working hypothesis I’m following is that factors like dehydration, electrolyte imbalances, oxidative stress (harmful free radicals), and disrupted internal organ energy can interfere with cellular replication and weaken muscle cell integrity.
If I were managing MD personally, here is the holistic protocol I would consider:
· Maximize Grounding: Spend as many hours as possible barefoot on soil, wet beach sand, or using an earthing pad indoors to absorb free electrons.
· Boost Negative Ion Intake: Support the body’s electron supply through an alkaline-rich diet, drinking mildly alkaline water, and taking mineral-rich baths (e.g., sea salt or Epsom salts).
· Stimulate Meridian Points: Use regular therapies such as massage, electrical stimulation, thermal heat, or light energy to promote optimal energy circulation throughout the body.
· Support Cellular Health: Add nutritional supplements like folic acid and B-complex vitamins, which may help prevent genetic mutations and support mitochondrial function.
In theory, combining these efforts could help prevent cellular replication errors and enhance mitochondrial functionality.
Most importantly, the baseline here is safety—these interventions are non-invasive and appear to carry no risk of making MD worse. I’d love to hear your perspective on these ideas.
Best regards,
Moon Sung
